FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: claimed invention relates to a coating for sound dampening, in particular deals with a coating composition, a method of the coating application, as well as a base, at least, partially covered with the coating composition. The coating composition includes: (i) water a dispersion of polymer particles; (ii) a compound of polyethercarbamate; (iii) a filling agent and (iv) inorganic microparticles. The material, applied as the component (iii), and the material, applied as the component (iv), are different. After the application of the composition on a substrate and after its hardening, the hardened coating composition is characterised by the loss coefficient for a dampening composite, equal to 0.05 or more, at a frequency from 100 to 6300 Hz and contains a surface, which in fact does not have defects. The hardened coating layer contains not more than one clearance, which resulted from bubbling, on an area of 75 mm².

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain the defect-free coating with the considerably smaller number of clearances.
