FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: according to the method in the presence of interconnection with large power association, on the basis of measurements of casual deviations of active power and frequency in the course of operation of a power supply system, the dependence of an average per time unit of number of crossings of pre-set level of casual deviation of active power on interconnection from the size of this level. In absence of interconnection the similar characteristic for casual deviations of frequency in a power system is determined, and, combining the obtained characteristics by average of crossing of levels per time unit, the frequency characteristic is determined. If necessary to determine the characteristics for different current values of power of a power system from the common array of measurements the arrays are allocated for various values of power of a power system and the frequency characteristic for each of these arrays is determined.
EFFECT: obtaining the total frequency characteristic of the power system with limited power.
