FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: press contains bedplate determining work space, and first locking device to lock the pipe subjected to heading. In the press the first heading devices are provided, they contain at least one first heading matrix, and at least one cylindrical piercer moved in axial direction. The matrix contains two half-matrices that can be separated or closed around the headed pipe end. Press holds the matrix holder that supports the half-matrices during movement between the opened and closed positions. The matrix holder is made independent of the bedplate and moves in the transverse direction between the work and non-work positions. In the work position the half-matrices are closed around the headed pipe end. In non-work position the half-matrices can be cooled and/or lubricated beyond the press work space.
EFFECT: possibility of cooling, lubrication and replacement of the heading devices beyond the work space, thus preventing work parts of the press against damage.
