FIELD: woodworking industry.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises aiming of a claw-like felling unit by the manipulator on standing trees, gripping, cutting, and stacking them on the ground for formation of the bundle, turning the platform with the manipulator and changing the reach of the manipulator. Formation of the bundle of individual trees is carried out alternately by two manipulators. The manipulators are mounted on the platform diametrically opposite. Using one manipulators the claw-like felling unit is aimed at a standing tree for its gripping and cutting, and using the other the tree cut by it is transferred for stacking in the bundle and is stacked in the bundle, at that aiming of the freed claw-like felling unit of this manipulator to the next tree is performed simultaneously with the transfer of the cut tree by the first manipulator for its stacking in the bundle. The machine for forming the bundles of trees comprises a self-propelled chassis on which a full-circle platform is mounted with an operator's cab, an engine, hydraulic system units and technological equipment mounted on it. The technological equipment is made in the form of two hydraulic manipulators equipped at their free ends with the claw-like felling units. The manipulators are mounted on a full-circle platform diametrically opposite with the ability to perform by them alternately of function of the device to compensate the overturning moment.
