FIELD: tobacco industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a cigarette filter containing an aromatic capsule and to a cigarette containing such filter. The cigarette filter contains filtering plugs separated from each other with a cavity located between them, an aromatic capsule encapsulating in a shell liquid contents (which include a flavouring agent) and liquid-proof tipping paper and/or filter wrapper wrapped around the filtering plugs and the aromatic capsule and arranged in the cavity between the filtering plugs; the liquid-proof tipping paper and/or filter wrapper is oil-proof paper; the liquid contents include a flavouring agent, a solvent and a thickener and have viscosity equal to 30 MPa-s or more at the temperature of 25°C.

EFFECT: creation of a cigarette filter containing an aromatic capsule and able to prevent impregnation with liquid contents to the surface of tipping paper, tobacco core cigarette paper and the butt-end side of the filter mouthpiece end when used without causing difficulties during the filter production.
