FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of obtaining coatings with special properties, namely to the coatings with high resistance to corrosion damages and wear. A cold gas-dynamic sputtering method of a wear and corrosion resistant gradient coating involves the supply of metal powder to a supersonic gas flow with the formation of a hetero-phase flow and its application onto the item surface. The metal powder is supplied in an inert gas flow; then, supply to the inert gas flow with the specified metal powder of a reaction gas is performed with the increase of its volumetric content in the above flow as per a linear or exponential law so that the increase of content of the compound of the above metal powder with the above reaction gas is provided in the form of absorbed particles in the coating from 0% on the surface of the adhesive layer to 100% on the surface of the obtained coating. As the metal powder, powder of zirconium or its alloy, or chrome or its alloy is used. Supply of the inert and reaction gases is performed from two independent sources. In particular cases of implementation of the invention, for example, helium or argon is used as the inert gas. For example, nitrogen or oxygen is used as the reaction gas.
