FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: borehole neutron emitter in a protective housing comprises a vacuum neutron tube with a power supply circuit consisting of two high-voltage transformers, a storage capacitor, an accelerating pulse generating circuit based on a bipolar circuit, a power supply unit with a switch and a switch triggering pulse generating circuit, wherein heat-conducting insulators are placed on the target and the anode electrodes of the neutron tube, said insulators being made in the form of hollow cylinders with annular cavities having thermal contact with the electrodes of the neutron tube and the inner surface of the protective housing.
EFFECT: longer service life, high stability owing to reduced overheating of main components of the emitter, including the neutron tube, which is the main source of heat, smaller size and weight.
