SUBSTANCE: product is provided, comprising a fabric comprising: (a) the yarn from a fibre mixture comprising: (i) from about 10 wt % to about 85 wt %, at least one two-band fibre containing an oxidized polymer selected from the group consisting of homopolymers based on acrylonitrile, copolymers based on acrylonitrile, terpolymers based on acrylonitrile and their combinations; (ii) at least one accompanying fibre selected from the group consisting of flame retardant polyester, flame retardant polyamide (nylon), flame-retardant viscose, flame retardant treated cellulose, meta-aramid, para-aramid, modacrylate, melamine, wool, polyamide (nylon), regenerated cellulose, polyvinyl chloride, antistatic fibre, poly(para-fenilenbenzo-bis-oxazole) ((PBO)), polybenzimidazole ((PBI)), polysulphonamide ((PSA)), and their combinations; and (b) optionally containing accompanying yarn, different from the said yarn from a mixture of fibres; wherein the said accompanying yarn comprises para-aramid in an amount of less than 20 wt % by weight of the fabric; and where the fabric has a weight of about 3 oz./yard2 (about 1 N/m2) to about 12 oz./yard2 (about 4 N/m2).
