SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a film-forming composition intended for application on the outer surface of a building, which contains an agent capable of trapping formaldehyde. The film-forming composition contains a dispersion phase, binder, pigments, filler, additives and an agent capable of trapping formaldehyde, selected from compounds with an active methylene group/groups of one of the following formulae (I)-(IV): Formula , wherein R1 and R2, identical or different, denote a hydrogen atom, a C1-C20 alkyl radical, preferably C1-C6, an amino radical or a radical of formula
