SUBSTANCE: invention relates to space engineering and can be used during approaching and subsequent docking of two space objects. The method includes determination of departure impulse amount and place of application before active spacecraft (ASO) transfer to trajectory of flight to other celestial body based on condition of ASO crossing the orbit of passive spacecraft (PSO). Then the ASO is transferred to the orbit of other celestial body by means of simultaneous application to it a braking impulse (to provide specified orbit height parameters) and lateral impulse (to align planes of docking objects orbits). Against large braking impulse, insignificant lateral impulse will not virtually cause increased fuel consumption by ASO, but will significantly reduce time of ASO flight till docking to PSO.
EFFECT: reduced period of approaching to PSO and lower fuel consumption.
