FIELD: instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: method is based on formation within a measuring time interval equal to an integral number of periods of the test signal, auxiliary time intervals, which are filled with counting pulses, the number of which at each next auxiliary interval is multiplied by weight coefficients increasing each time by one to the average of n auxiliary intervals with further reduction by one each time. Within the measuring time interval there are formed alternating uneven and even auxiliary intervals that define an averaged duration value of an input time interval at subsequent addition of suspended uneven and subtraction of even time intervals.
EFFECT: enlarging the measuring range of duration of time intervals with improved accuracy and interference immunity without any increase of total measurement time.
