SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and an engineering system for ore excavation from a longwall face, having a device for locating people and/or movable machines in mine shafts using RFID technology with multiple base stations 20, distributed along the mine shaft to be monitored, and have a transmitter and a preferably a receiver, with at least one RFID transponder, connected to a person or machine, the location of which is to be determined, containing identification data and which can be activated by a base station and can be read in a contactless manner by the base station. In order to carry out the method of locating people and equipment of an engineering system for ore excavation from a longwall face, particularly when mining coal, which enables to efficiently use the RFID technology, transmitters located at least near base stations along the mine shaft to be monitored, consecutively emit a transmission wave to activate a RFID transponder.

EFFECT: high reliability and low cost of monitoring all miners in a production face.
