FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: device intended to implement a windwheel braking method for a wind-driven power plant comprising an electric generator includes an rpm sensor of the generator shaft, a controller, a switching device and an accumulator battery. The switching device is made as a bidirectional transistor switch comprised of the first and second transistors of a p-n-p-n structure interconnected by their emitters and two diodes, which negative electrodes are connected respectively to collectors of the first and second transistors while positive electrodes are connected to emitters of the transistors and interconnected. The bidirectional transistor switch is switched on by collectors of the transistors between one end of the winding of the generator stator and positive pole of the accumulator battery, which negative pole is connected to the other end of the winding of the generator stator. The rpm sensor of the generator shaft is coupled to the first input of the controller, which first and second outputs are connected to gates of the first and second transistors respectively while the third output of the controller is connected to the emitters of the transistors.

EFFECT: potential complete stop of the windwheel at its braking.
