SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an image processing device which is configured to detect the destination of image data on a data network. An image processing device and method are disclosed, the method comprising the following steps: inputting user information; designating as the destination of image data catalogue information with respect to said user based on the user information; recording said catalogue information and performing control so as not to record the catalogue information corresponding to a transfer protocol which is specified as blocked from a plurality of transfer protocols. The transfer protocols are used : fax protocols, E-mail protocols, server message block (SMB), file transfer protocols (FTP), Web distributed authoring and versioning (WebDAV).
EFFECT: preventing the detection of a destination corresponding to a transfer protocol designated as blocked for a user.
