FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: device for hydraulic turbine protection against journal bearing failure contains current sensors 1 made based on the measuring current transformer installed in stator circuit of the synchronous generator, one per each phase, pressure sensor 2, unit 3 for comparison with reference values of the generator stator current, unit 4 for comparison with reference values of the discharge water line pressure, unit 5 setting reference current of generator stator, unit 6 setting reference pressure, unit 7 for comparison with set-point and for determination of deviation sign for generator stator current, unit 8 for comparison with set-point and for determination of deviation sign for pressure in discharge water line, unit 9 setting set-point of deviation for generator stator current, unit 10 setting set-point of deviation for pressure in the discharge water line, unit 11 for alarm generation, control unit 12 for hydraulic turbine and generator systems.

EFFECT: increased response and prevention of emergencies linked with the journal bearing failure at early stages to minimise the emergency consequences.
