SUBSTANCE: method of alignment of assortment butts comprises stacking the pack of assortments in the butt alignment device, the relative displacement of assortments along the longitudinal axis under the influence of the working bodies of the butt alignment device to align the butts, release of the pack of assortments from the working bodies of the butt alignment device, and unloading assortments from the butt alignment device. The stacked assortments in the butt alignment device before exposure to them of the working bodies of the butt alignment device are formed in the one-row order.

EFFECT: reduction of loads to the parts of the butt alignment device.
