FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pipe rolling. In compliance with claimed process, the pipes are produced by ESR of hollow ingots to be bored and turned to hollow ingots-billets sized to 660×out.380×2100±50 mm. Said billets are heated to 1190-1200°C and pierced-rolled at helical rolling mill to get the sleeve billets. The latter are rolled at PRU 8-16′′ with Pilger mills to the stock. Process wastes are cut off by hot cutting saw and pipes are straightened at six-roll machine. Then, they are heat-treated, straightened again at six-roll machine with measurement of total curvature per the length of pipes. Aforesaid stock is bored and turned to commercial pipes. The latter are etched, repaired is required and subjected to ultrasound control and acceptance.
EFFECT: metal saving, higher efficiency of the Pilger plant.
