IN-FLIGHT DETERMINATION OF AIRCRAFT GRAVITY CENTRE AND DEVICE TO THIS END Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC G01M1/12 G01G19/07

Abstract RU 2570339 C1

FIELD: aircraft engineering.

SUBSTANCE: claimed process proceeds from the aircraft flight parameters measurements. It consists in determination of interrelation of the craft linear acceleration increment at its arbitrary point relative to gravity centre at its manoeuvring. For this, first, measured are the angle of attack, angles of gliding and speed, those of roll and pitch. Then, also measured are angular velocities measured by the three-axis angular velocity transducers and apparent accelerations along associated axes measured by three-axis accelerometers. Note here that the coordinates of onboard transducers are known. At the next step, defined are acceleration measurement errors caused by the displacement of gravity centre to define the angle of attack, angles of gliding and speed, those of roll and pitch again. This is done by comparison of these magnitudes defined by the signals of transducers without correction with the computation results to determine the minimization criteria. Then, numerical problem of preset functional is resolved by reiteration to define the aircraft gravity centre coordinates. Note here that said coordinates are defined at performing the S-turns. Claimed process and hardware can be used for determination of gravity centres for all types of aircraft.

EFFECT: simplified process and hardware, lower costs, higher precision of measurements.
