FIELD: power industry.
SUBSTANCE: device for conversion of water energy into mechanical power of rotation relates to hydropower engineering and can be used in hydroelectric units of hydroelectric power plant. The device contains a housing (1) with an internal cavity which has a form of two parallel and crossed cylindrical chambers (5) and (6). From the opposite sides of the housing symmetrically to the chambers the inlet (9) and outlet (10) branch pipes for water are made. In the chambers (5) and (6) the rotors (7) and (8) are installed. In the branch pipe (9) at the centre the flowline guide (17), dividing water flow (18) into two flows is installed. The rotors (7) and (8) are implemented as helical gear wheels with curvilinear teeth (11) and (12) which are mutually engaged. The profile of the working sections of teeth (11) of one of wheels in end face section is outlined by arches of the circles (14) which are eccentrically displaced with reference to the wheel axis. The interfaced sections of teeth of another wheel in the same cross sections are outlined by sections of fronts of cycloidal curves (16). The branch pipes (9) and (10) are displaced along the rotors (7) and (8) towards their ends in opposite sides.
EFFECT: creation of simple and reliable device which effectively converts water energy into mechanical power of rotation in the wide range of pressure head and power.
