SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of thermal measurements and metering of quality and balance of natural gas and may be used to measure quantity and compose actual balance of natural gas under conditions of supply, transport and consumption in a system of a regional gad distribution network. A distinctive feature of the method to meter and balance quantity of gas and a device for its realisation is the fact that they meter quantities of gas both in the metering stations of the supplier, and in metering stations of consumers, and also thermal losses in the gas distribution network. Besides, on each gas metering station, apart from determination of volume under standard conditions they determine mass of gas to compose the total balance of regional masses, they determine thermal losses of mass and volume during gas transport to a specific consumer and thermal losses in a gas distribution network, they determine balances of volume under standard conditions with account of correction from functions of impact of mass balance metering, ambiguity of volume measurement under standard conditions and metering of thermal losses of gas transport, they determine balances of gas masses with account of ambiguity of gas mass and thermal losses measurement during gas transport, they determine thermal balance of the region with account of mass balance, with account of current heating capacity and current density of gas under standard conditions.

EFFECT: increased stability of gas metering, lower dispersion and increased accuracy of gas balance results.
