SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power-plant engineering and can be used in electric generators with permanent magnets. Rotor of an electromechanical energy converter comprises a shaft, a yoke, permanent magnets and a bandage shell made of many thin rings, separated from each other by insulating material. Permanent magnets are made in the shape of a biconvex lens. At that, the shape of the yoke profiles the shape of the permanent magnets, while the dimensionless ratio of the inner radius of the lens convexity to the outer radius of the lens convexity is minimum five hundredths and maximum twenty five hundredths.

EFFECT: technical result is as follows: increase in harmonicity of magnetic induction curve in the air gap and reduction of ohmic losses in electric machine caused by higher harmonics, as well as reduction of higher harmonics amplitude.
