FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: fibre is obtained from a polymer containing imidazole groups. The fibre additionally contains: i) a halide anion present in an amount in the range of 0.05 to 20.1 wt %, based on the weight of the fibre; ii) sulphur, where the sulphur is present in the fibre in an amount in the range of 0.05 to 3 wt %.
EFFECT: invention enables to produce fibres having improved tensile strength.
