FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: device represents an acoustic transducer and is intended for geophysical research of wells, particularly in equipment acoustic logging. Device includes a housing in which is isolated a compartment with acoustically transparent casing filled with dielectric fluid. In compartment is a core with excitation winding. Core is made up of two plates with "crescent" shape made from magnetostrictive material, installed in housing parallel to each other with a gap. Ends of plates are connected to each other and rigidly fixed in housing, and exciting coil is located in "crescent" core area. Between plates in "crescent" region of core there is at least one spacer element.
EFFECT: technical result is improvement of reliability and manufacturability of acoustic transducer and broader functionality.
