FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to antenna engineering and can be used in radio communication systems, radar and radio navigation when receiving signals in noise conditions. A multifunctional adaptive antenna array comprises N antenna elements, N complex signal weighting units, a common adder and an adaptive processor, comprising the corresponding units for the generation and inversion of a covariance matrix, a unit for generating a control vector which is responsible for phasing the antenna array in the direction of the arrival of a useful signal and the shape of the principal maximum of the beam pattern, and a unit for generating a weight coefficient vector, as well as necessary connections between the said elements.
EFFECT: universality of the antenna array due to the capacity of the antenna array to change the shape of the principal maximum of the beam pattern when processing narrowband signals relative to noise signals independent of the power of the said signals in any signal-noise environment.
