FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to geophysics and is intended for determination of free fall acceleration gz and its spatial characteristics gφ both on Earth surface and on surfaces of other planets. For determination of free fall acceleration gz and its spatial characteristics gφ use is made of a measuring device equipped with a zero-indicator sensor and gradient sensors installed on a disc located in the positioning device with a possibility of rotation. Method of performing a gravimetric probing consists in obtaining, with the help of a measuring device of a 3D time plot gφ and comparing of the obtained time plot with “normal time plot” in order to detect an abnormal area on the 3D-time plot. This method provides for a possibility to obtain a volumetric characteristic of the gravitational field; at that, the range of measured values of gravitational acceleration is not limited.

EFFECT: technical result of the alleged invention consists in the improvement of accuracy and informativity of gravimetric measurements.
