A digital modem for a radio link consists of transmitting and receiving parts and comprises: four LVDS buffers, six multiplexers, a test sequence generator, two FIFO memory units, a block turbo code coder, two counters, two combinational circuits, a modulator, an interpolator, two low-pass filters, a decimation filter, a demodulator, a block turbo code decoder, a channel quality estimating device and a control device.
