SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly, to high-strength articles operating under considerable dynamic and cyclic loads.

EFFECT: for increasing impact strength, fatigue durability and crack resistance of steel items at maintaining their strength due to formation in steel disperse mixed martensite-bainitic structure, reliable high-strength articles method comprises heating billet to austenitizing temperature, plastic deformation, intermediate cooling in martensitic transformation temperature range, additional heating to temperature of intermediate (bainitic) converting 350 °C and final cooling, at that, intermediate cooling after plastic deformation is performed in molten nitrate, heated to temperature of 180-270 °C, and plastic deformation is performed with degree of 20-40 %.
