FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nitration of mechanical parts. Salt melt for nitriding mechanical parts from steel, in fact, consisting of (contents are expressed in weight): from 25 % to 60 % of alkaline metal chlorides; from 10 % to 40 % of alkaline metal carbonates; from 20 % to 50 % of alkaline metal cyanates; maximum 3 % of cyanide ions, wherein the sum of said content is equal to 100 %. Method of nitriding mechanical parts from steel involves immersion of part in said salt melt at temperature between 530 °C and 650 °C within no more than 4 hours. Nitrated mechanical part from steel is treated using said method of nitriding.
EFFECT: obtaining parts with corrosion resistance at simultaneous improvement of surface roughness.
