FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and can be used in making large-diameter rings. Forging machine comprises a frame with hollow columns and a movable cross member with a tool for processing outer surface of ring. Cross beam is moved along columns under action of lifting and working cylinders. On movable table there is a mandrel for ring. Said frame is made in form of support beams with end sections and middle part. Working surface of frame is formed by upper surface of support beams. Columns are mounted on support beams and are interconnected by upper horizontal members. Working cylinders are mounted on support beams with respective working cylinders positioned on both sides of protruding middle part of each support beam. Plunger of each working cylinder is connected to movable crossbar vertical tie. Lifting cylinders are mounted on columns.
EFFECT: result is increasing reliability of forging unit by reducing its rocking and preventing overheating of components.
