FIELD: radio engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering and can be used in navigation and meteorological systems. Said result is achieved by that the device contains in a certain manner interconnected two spaced lightning direction finders with increased angle of view, a unit for determining a small time interval, a read-only memory, unit of lightning discharge radio-frequency spectrum analyzers, a spectral separation unit with maximum frequency, a binary-into-decimal code converter, an indicator.
EFFECT: technical result is determination of a distance to lightning discharges without deterioration of accuracy characteristics and without increasing dimensions of the device.
