FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ship building, specifically to river ferry, capable of operating in ice conditions. Disclosed is a self-propelled ferry comprising a pontoon with ramps arranged on it, wherein ferry has ice-breaker ends with rudders, ice belt in area of variable waterline, main engine installed in middle part of housing and through transmission connected with paddle wheels, arranged along sides in recesses with slots, preventing penetration of large ice to paddle wheels, wherein paddle wheels rotate independently from each other.
EFFECT: technical result is improved operational characteristics of ferry.
