FIELD: electricity; safety systems.
SUBSTANCE: elevator safety circuit can be used in a method to decelerate an elevator car during an emergency stop in a controlled manner. Safety circuit comprises a series chain of safety contacts (S1-Sn) having input (T1) connected to power source (PS) and first safety relay (7) deriving electrical power from output (T2) of series chain of safety contacts (S1-Sn). Delay circuit (13) is arranged between output (T2) of series chain of safety contacts (S1-Sn) and first safety relay (7). Therefore, if one of protective contacts opens for activation of emergency shutdown, any process, controlled action of first protective relay is delayed. Said circuit is used in a method for controlling elevator movement.
EFFECT: invention provides an improved process of controlling deceleration of an elevator car.
