FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and can be used for production of mandrels for a tube-rolling mill. Failed mandrels made from complex-alloy chromium tool steel with chrome content of more than 4 %, content of each of carbide-forming elements and silicon of up to 1 % and carbon content of 0.32-0.44 % are assembled in a bundle. Using the process of electroslag remelting an ingot is produced mandrels, it is then cooled in a heated well at the temperature of 600-650 °C during 48 hours. Then, the still hot ingot in a thermos is sent for forging. Forging is carried out at a hydraulic press with total deformation of 50-60% to produce a blank. Blank is subjected to annealing at 900 °C during 120 hours. Forged piece is produced as a result of forging at a radial clamping machine. Produced forged piece is subjected to annealing, heat treatment, blade processing, grinding, chrome plating and honing to produce mandrel.
EFFECT: result is increased metal yield of mandrels during repeated use of high-quality tool steels.
