FIELD: food industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to food industry and can be used to improve and stabilise antioxidant properties of alcoholic beverages. Method includes adding to an alcoholic beverage an antioxidant composition of a lithium salt with antioxidant activity: lithium ascorbate, lithium aspartate, lithium succinate, lithium benzoate, lithium carbonate, lithium glutamate, lithium citrate, lithium salicylate in a mixture in equal-weight ratios with total concentration of lithium ions 0.1–3.0 g per 1,000 decalitres of beverage.
EFFECT: invention provides high antioxidant properties of alcoholic beverages and their preservation during prolonged storage of beverage.
