FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compositions of a quaternary ester, having good dispersibility at low temperatures. Described are active fabric softener compositions, containing (a) quaternary esters of formula (I): wherein R¹, R² and R³ denote hydrogen or group C(O)R⁵; R⁵ denotes alkyl or alkenyl group, containing 11 to 21 carbon atoms; A^- denotes an anion compatible with fabric softener; R⁴ denotes methyl or ethyl; and in which: (i) using standard content in wt%: 33–38 % of said quaternary esters are monoesters; 52–55 % of said quaternary esters are diesters; and 7–12 % of said quaternary esters are triesters; and (ii) said groups R⁵ have iodine number, calculated for free fatty acid R⁵COOH, ranging from 65 to 85, and ratio of amounts of cis: trans unsaturated bonds in said groups R⁵ is less than 12:1; and (b) 10–25 wt% alcohol solvent; and in which at temperature from higher than 15 °C and to not lower than 25 °C said composition is in form of a transparent liquid.

EFFECT: technical result is good dispersibility at low temperature.
