SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of railway transport, in particular, to hand brakes. The hand brake comprises a hand wheel, a chain, a body, an assembled driving shaft, a geared wheel and an assembled base. The hand wheel is connected to the assembled driving shaft and the main shaft of the geared wheel. One end of the chain is fixed on the geared wheel. The hand brake also comprises a limiting device, arranged on the shaft to wind the chain between the geared wheel and the base. The limiting device comprises a bearing I, a torsion spring, a guide plate and a holder of a guide plate. The torsion spring is placed outside onto the bearing I. A stop rod III is fixed on the side of the holder of the torsion spring directed towards the spring. The stop rod I is fixed on the side of the guide plate directed towards the torsion spring. The stop rod II is fixed on the side of the base directed to the holder of the guide plate and stretches via the hole through the holder of the guide plate and turns in the arc-shaped slot of the guide plate.
