FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the demagnetizing devices, particularly to the devices intended for the demagnetization of vessels and submarines at the stationary stations. A method of demagnetizing a vessel, in which on every three demagnetizing windings, orthogonally arranged near the vessel, the battery of storage capacitors is alternately discharged. During this process, the capacity, inductance and resistance of the discharge circuit is selected based on receiving of damped oscillatory mode of battery discharge, and the closure of the discharge circuit is delivered through the bi-directional switch keys for a time sufficient to complete the oscillation process. Also, an apparatus for implementing the method is offered.
EFFECT: increase of the quality and acceleration of the ship's demagnetizing process, reducing the energy consumption during the demagnetizing device.
