FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method of processing titanium alloy semi-finished products with a two-phase structure is proposed. The process comprises heating in β-area and deformation and cooling to temperature (α+β)-area, subsequent heating and deformation, and final cooling. Heating to temperature β-area is performed at a speed of 1-20°C/min, then holding is carried out for 1-8 hours and deformation is carried out with the degree 70-98% during cooling to a temperature by 40-200°C below the polymorphous transformation temperature. Then, the subsequent heating to temperatures in the temperature range by 50°C below and 30°C above polymorphic transformation temperature at a rate of 10-50°C/min and deformation with a degree 10-50% during cooling to the temperature of 60-200°C below the polymorphic transformation temperature, after which heating is continued until temperature in the range 30°C and below 150°C above polymorphic transformation temperature at the rate of 10-50°C/min, and holding is carried out for 2-30 min, and deformation is carried out at the speed of 0.5-50 mm/s with a semi-tension force of 3-35 kg/mm2 during cooling to a temperature of 100-400°C below the polymorphic transformation temperature.
EFFECT: increased fracture toughness of the material.
