SUBSTANCE: way to find the sought path through a tree containing forbidden paths that are blocked by security application, in which the path tree is created using the security application, is suggested; using the security application, the path is separated to the constituent elements and the number of significant characters for each element is calculated; initial element of the sought path is assigned as current component of the sought path; root node of tree is assigned current top; current component of sought path is compared with descendants of current top. If the descendant contains a mask, firstly, the number of significant mask symbols and the component of sought path are compared, then symbol-wise comparison is performed in case when the number of significant mask symbols is not greater than the number of significant characters of sought path component; decision on finding the sought path in path tree is made; access on sought path is blocked by means of security application using interception of API functions, if the sought path is contained in path tree.
EFFECT: ensuring that security application blocks access to forbidden paths contained in the search tree.
