METHOD OF DETERMINING SIGNAL SOURCE LOCATION Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC G01S3/80

Abstract RU 2624984 C1

FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: receivers record the arrival time of a fast signal (electromagnetic radiation or light) to a single-point observation point with two recording points for concomitant slow signals (infrasound, acoustic, seismic or ultrasonic waves). As well as the arrival time of slow signals is recorded on two registration point and for each registration point the arrival time difference of the fast signal and the slow signal is determined, further, for each registration point, before the arrival of slow signals the fast signal is recorded by two receivers with the dipole radiation patterns mutually perpendicular in the horizontal plane, and the ratio of signals from the receivers with the dipole radiation patterns determined the fast signal arrival angle between the direction from the registration point for fast signal source and the line connecting both points of registration. And after the arrival of slow signals and the determination of the difference in the arrival time of the fast signal and the slow signals for each registration point at the angles of arrival of the fast signal known to the distance between the registration points and the arrival times of the fast signal and the slow signals for each registration point, the arrival times of the fast signal and slow signals for each registration point and the propagation velocity of the accompanying slow signals determine the distance from the registration points to the source of the fast signal. And from the two recording points to the fast signal source and the known distance between the registration points, the location of the fast signal source is determined.

EFFECT: reducing the error in using it at a single-point observation station or on a vehicle.
