FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: plant (100) for production of completely soluble, pure and well-expressed mono- or diammonium phosphates includes an extraction section (10), a stripping section (20), and finishing devices (90). In the extraction section, liquid-liquid phosphate extraction is conducted between the supplied liquid (1) containing phosphoric acid and substantially free of nitrate ions and a solvent (5) that is a solvent which is immiscible with water or at least substantially water-immiscible. In the stripping section, liquid-liquid phosphate extraction is carried out between the phosphate-enriched solvent and the re-extraction solution. The phosphate depleted solvent is recycled to the extraction section for further phosphate extraction. The re-extraction solution is an aqueous solution of ammonium phosphate in which at least 80 mole % of ammonium phosphate is monoammonium phosphate and/or the solvent is a water-immiscible alcohol. The finishing devices comprise an ammonia source (60), an additive device (70), a cooling device (50), a sludge removal device (40), and a recirculation system (80).
