SUBSTANCE: device for protecting the synchronous generator comprises an actuator in the form of a three-phase voltage rectifier of a generator with a voltage divider, a low-frequency filter, a voltage response setting, a delay element and an actuating element. The device is provided with an asymmetry meter for the generator output voltage at an amplifier-comparator comparing instantaneous rectified voltage of generator with part of its mean rectified value and pulse expander, wherein the device receives power from rectified voltage of the generator and its additional winding.
EFFECT: provision of short-circuit protection and prevention of protection false operation when starting synchronous motors without using current transformers.
