SUBSTANCE: press bending device comprises a device for measuring the gap between the edges of an open tube, in which the punch pressing force is set after measuring the gap between edges of the open tube. The device for measuring the gap between the edges of the open tube has a light projector and a light receiver mounted on the punch, as well as a reflector. The device for measuring the gap between the edges of the open tube measures the gap between the edge of the formed open tube and a punch bearing element, at that the control of the punch pressing force is carried out depending on the gap measured value.
EFFECT: possibility to perform accurate control of the gap value between the unattached edges of the open tube.
