Ledge-grousers make a single structure with the body of the caterpillar and are located along the width of the strip in the form of alternating first row and second row. The ledge-grousers of the first row are generally perpendicular to the outer surface of the belt. The ledge-grousers of the second row are located at an angle relative to the normal to the outer surface of the belt.
