SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the manufacture of articles based on polymer compositions, such as tyres. Precipitated silica has a BET specific surface area of 45 to 550 m²/g. Content of polycarboxylic acid in the precipitated silica, along with the corresponding carboxylate, expressed in terms of total carbon, is at least 0.15 % by weight, and aluminum content is at least 0.20 % by weight. Precipitated silica has on its surface molecules of a mixture of polycarboxylic acids selected from adipic acid, succinic acid, ethylsuccinic acid, glutaric acid, methylglutaric acid, oxalic acid or citric acid.

EFFECT: invention reduces the viscosity of polymer compositions containing reinforcing filler while maintaining their mechanical properties.
