FIELD: pharmacology.
SUBSTANCE: therapeutic agent for arthrosis contains a compound represented by the formula 
(I) as an active ingredient, wherein R is a linear or branched alkenyl group having from 2 to 30 carbon atoms; X is an oxygen atom or a methylene group, and Y is an oxygen atom; and M is a hydrogen atom or a sodium atom. Also, a method for arthrosis treatment, comprising administration of a compound represented by the formula (I) to a patient with arthrosis is disclosed.
EFFECT: group of inventions allows to achieve an inhibitory effect on the destruction of articular cartilage and a pronounced therapeutic effect on arthrosis by accelerating hyaluronic acid production in chondrocytes.
