SUBSTANCE: method for the synthesis of phosphorylated nonylphenols containing 4-9 oxyethylated units and two kinds of a phosphoric acid residue using phosphoric anhydride or polyphosphoric acid as a phosphorylating agent, characterized in that phosphorylated oxyethylated nonylphenols with an appropriate degree of hydroxyethylation are obtained, and a phosphorylation product containing 92-96 wt % of ethers of phosphoric or polyphosphoric acids, the structural formulas of which are presented below , , where n = 4-9, and the neutralization of the reactions ionic mixture with an alkaline agent is not necessary. The invention also relates to the use of the said compounds as a hydrotrope.
