FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical technology, in particular, it relates to a method of the bottoms of phthalic anhydride production processing. Proposed method consists in evaporation of the bottom residue at a residual pressure of 6-38 kPa and a temperature of 240-300°C, reaction of the resulting vapors with 2-ethylhexanol followed by the reaction product processing into a commercial plasticizer-dioctyl phthalate.
EFFECT: this method allows you to get from the waste - the bottoms of phthalic anhydride production, the commercial plasticizer - dioctyl phthalate.
