FIELD: process automation devices.
SUBSTANCE: claimed invention relates to a system and method for controlling an electronic gaming machine ("EGM") from a mobile device during a remote access play session. EGM is switched between a local access mode, in which the input means on the EGM are active, and a remote access mode in which the input means on the EGM are disabled and the player interacts with the EGM using a mobile device, such as a smartphone or tablet computer. During remote access game sessions, all critical game play operations are still performed exclusively on the EGM, not on a mobile device. Critical game play operations include generating random numbers and determining the game outcome. Game content, including video content, image screenshots and audio of the game are transferred to a mobile device for display to the player. Communication is provided between one mobile device and several electronic gaming machines. There is also no need for registration, which simplifies management, since only the identification code associated with a particular EGM is used.
EFFECT: communication between one mobile device and several electronic gaming machines is provided.
