SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to mining in hard rock, in particular to a modular cutting head. Cutting head comprises a base member, drive bushing, a plurality of annular tool supports, a plurality of cutting bit carriers. Base member has a rotational axis and includes a centre bore, extending along the rotational axis, wherein the base member includes a plurality of steps extending around the rotational axis, each of which provides a receiving portion of the tool support. Drive bushing is disposed within the centre bore and is configured to transmit torque from a driving device to the base member. Each of the plurality of annular tool supports is concentrically disposed about the rotational axis on the receiving portion of the corresponding tool support in a releasable manner. Plurality of cutting bit carriers is attached to each of the plurality of tool supports, each of the plurality of cutting bit carriers being configured to support the rotation of the cutting bit.
EFFECT: technical result is higher efficiency of the cutting head due to the simple replacement of the support.
